The History of Art and Architecture, B.A. provides students with a critical understanding of the production of art and the built environment. Students can choose emphases in Architecture and Environment or Museum Studies. Career options include museum curators, auctioneers, historic preservationists, art librarians and more.

UCSB’s Environmental Studies program was established more than 35 years ago and is one of the oldest and best known in the country. The B.A. degree emphasizes the social sciences and humanities, and the B.S. degree focuses on the natural and physical sciences. Graduates become ecologists, conservationists, city planners and more. 


UCSB offers an educational environment like no other. More than 90 majors, 40 minors and honors programs for top students are offered in a wide range of disciplines, meaning students can pursue their passions here in a rigorous academic setting.
