An international applicant is a student who holds or expects to hold a student, exchange, visitor, or diplomatic visa and who wishes to attend school in the United States.

Applying as an International Student
As an international student, you can apply as a freshman or a transfer student and you must meet the University of California subject requirements at the freshman or transfer level. You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university. You are considered a transfer applicant if you have completed secondary school and enrolled in a college or university.
