UCSB School Group Visits

Our hosted visits for groups of 20 to 50 are a great opportunity for prospective students to get insight about academics, student life and making the transition from high school and community college to UCSB. Our staff provides presentations, campus tours and other activities geared toward making your visit both informative and fun.

High School and Community College groups are encouraged to register early for a presentation and tour. Campus visits are available Tuesday through Friday; the UCSB Visitor Center will no longer offer hosted campus visits for groups on Monday. Please note that once the presentation and tour slots have been reserved for a particular date, no additional groups will be hosted on that date and it will no longer appear as an option. Self-guided tours can be conducted at any time. A self-guided tour map is available here.

Junior High School, Middle School, and Elementary School groups requesting a tour only should NOT register online; instead contact Nicole Wong at nicole.wong@sa.ucsb.edu or (805) 893-3331. Please note that the Visitor Center will no longer offer presentations for this age group. In addition, middle school tours are unavailable for the month of April due to increased campus visitation by admitted students.

Program Description

General Campus Visit

During the first hour of the campus visit (10-11 a.m. or 2-3 p.m.), an admissions counselor or counseling intern presents information about undergraduate admission requirements, academic programs, student services, and campus life.

During the second hour of the campus visit (11 a.m.-12 p.m. or 3-4 p.m.), a guide leads the group on a walking tour that visits essential elements of the campus, including a lecture hall, the library and the University Center.

Summer Campus Visit

Includes the presentation and usually a tour with a student guide. Occasionally during summer, students are unavailable. Groups may enjoy self-guided tours with help from our Self-Guided Tour Map.

Presentation Only

Includes the presentation, but students are not available to lead campus tours due to final exams and holidays.
